We mean EVERYONE!  Male, female, in all stages of life, with varying experiences. All classes can be customized for where YOU are today.

Lara Foldvari has been dancing for almost 55 years! She began her training in classical ballet at The Boston Ballet, followed by The New Haven Ballet (nee The Connecticut Ballet).

Lara is an internationally certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor through ACE, the American Council on Exercise; and was a Master Barre Instructor with IBBFA, the International Ballet Barre Fitness Association.

She is also Barre & Soul Academy certified in the American Lotte Berk barre method and Pure Lotte, CoreBarreFit trained with Elisabeth Halfpapp (through Barre Intensity), Barre Intensity,  American Barre Technique (ABT) and Barre Above  certified. Lara is also certified by the Physique 57 Barre Academy, The Dailey Method, BarreAmped (including Bounce), and is certified in the ORIGINAL barre class by theLONDONmethod, approved by Esther Fairfax (Lotte Berk's daughter). 

She is a Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) teacher, is trained in the Vaganova Method Syllabus of ballet, and is Ballerobica® certified. Lara has completed  her Yoga 200-hour Teacher Training Certification through YogaRenew, and was registered with Yoga Alliance. Her Pilates Mat certification is through AFPA. She is also trained in Aqua Barre through SCW. 

At any given time, she is probably going through another training.  Currently she is working on Essentrics ®️ and recently completed Callanetics ®️ (the first instructor to be certified in a decade!)

Lara is the founder and President of the Barre Fitness Alliance.  

Lara is a Certified Holistic Nutritionist through AFPA, the American Fitness Professionals & Associates, with additional nutrition/cooking education and training from NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) as a Fitness Nutrition Specialist, the Spencer Institute & NESTA (National Exercise & Sports Trainers Association), the Rouxbe Online Cooking School, and the T.Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies at eCornell.

Lara holds multiple other certifications/certificates and licenses with Bare®️ Workout, AEA (Aquatic Exercise Association), NESTA, ASFA (American Senior Fitness Association), AromaHut Institute (aromatherapy certification), The Herbal Academy, Silver Sneakers®, and formerly with AFAA (Aerobics & Fitness Association of America) and Zumba®.

She is also certified in  CPR/AED, and is insured.

Lara opened The BOG (Barre Over Garage now Barre On the Go) in 2020 as a safe place for her long-time students to return to after studios were closed due to COVID-19.  Every class is also livestreamed, so you can attend from the comfort of your own home. Subscriptions to our Content Library of (almost 900!) videos on demand  are also available.  

 YoLarates™ is Cheshire, CT's first barre class, designed by Master Barre Instructor, Lara Foldvari, in 2009. It was also approved by ACE and IBBFA as a Continuing Education Provider.

YoLarates™ is a blend of yoga, Pilates and ballet barre movements. The class starts with a warm-up of basic poses from yoga and ballet, followed by sun and moon salutations. After upper body work with light weights, we then move to the ballet barre portion of class, using a small squishy ball. The class continues onto the floor for a little more leg & glutes work before concentrating on Pilates abs exercises. A cool-down and stretch complete the class.

YoLarates™ will strengthen and tone your entire body, especially your core, buttocks, arms, and legs. You will also become more flexible, and more balanced, both physically and mentally.

All levels are welcome and encouraged to join us! Please bring a yoga mat if you have one. YoLarates™ can be done in sticky socks or bare feet. Dress comfortably (think yoga/workout wear).

 Bare Barre™️ distills Lara’s extensive experience and education into a barefoot, no-props, no-fluff class rooted in authentic barre. Expect focused footwork, balance challenges, stretching, pelvic floor engagement, and breathwork—all stripped down to the essentials.
